Edward “Ed” Hopkins
Edward “Ed” Hopkins, 82, of Corbin passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born November 2, 1936, in Laurel County, he was the son of the late Charles Robert and Mary Bell Hopkins.
He attended the Church of God in Jesus’ Name where he loved serving the Lord. He also enjoyed hard work, especially gardening, and providing for his beloved family.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by a son, James Hopkins; three sisters: Irene, Colene, and Edna; and a brother, Earl.
He leaves behind his loving family: his wife Kim Hopkins; eight children: Linda Detherage, Debbie Cassidy, Brenda Deaton, Bill Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins, Ashley Hopkins, Mark Hopkins, and Bruce Hopkins; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters: Ruth Roark and Geraldine Hampton; and a brother, Clyde Hopkins; other relatives and numerous friends. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 23, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Roark officiating.
Burial followed in the Miller and Sullivan Cemetery at Lily.
