W’burg police seek public’s help to locate missing woman

Williamsburg police are looking for a local woman, who walked away from a drug treatment facility late last month and hasn’t been seen since.

Tequila Sierra Shirer, 28, was last seen on April 28 in Williamsburg when she left the Anchored Ministries rehabilitation center.

“She hadn’t been there long. She was suffering from heroin withdrawal. Then she ran off from the facility. The last place she was seen was at Pilot trying to hitch a ride with a truck driver,” said Williamsburg Police Chief Wayne Bird.

“We have no reason to believe anything foul playwise, but we have her entered as missing and endangered because of the addiction and the withdrawals she was going through at the time. When people are having withdrawals, especially from heroin, it can be deadly if they don’t get medical treatment.”

Shirer is originally from Williamsburg but had been living in Baltimore, Maryland, for the past three to four years.

“She showed up here in late April asking for help,” Bird noted.

Bird said that authorities are just trying to find her and make sure she is OK.

Shirer is between 5’6” – 5’8” tall and weighs between 100 and 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She has a rose tattoo on her right arm and scars on her forehead from childhood chicken pox.
