Cleo Saylor

Cleo Saylor passed into eternal life on March, 11, 2018, at the Christian Care Center in Corbin.

Cleo was born July 16, 1922, in Mackey Bend, to her parents George M. and Della Johnson Sharp.

She united in marriage with Benjamin Harding Saylor for 67 years.

Her sister Ruth, her parents and Ben preceded her in death.

Cleo is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Saylor; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Daniel and Bethanie Saylor and first great-grandson Benjamin Zade Saylor who is expected in May.

At the time of her passing, Cleo was one of the oldest living members of the Central Baptist Church in Corbin.
She lived her life in Corbin, and enjoyed sharing stories of the city’s history and changes she had seen during the years. During the Second World War, Cleo contributed to the war efforts by making and sewing parachutes. She was employed for many years at Belk, Simpson and Daniel’s Department Stores.

Cleo leaves behind her extended Bargo Family, her many friends and her special caring friends Vickie Dixon, Samantha Messer and Gail Jordan to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be from 12 (Noon) until the funeral hour of 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the O’Neil – Lawson Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services for Cleo Saylor will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the O’Neil – Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Morris officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin, with Jeff Sears, Ronnie Bowling, James Scearse and Josh Cox serving as pallbearers.
