Anne Bohannon Criscillis
Anne Bohannon Criscillis, beloved mother of Paul Jr. (“Chuck”) and Arthur (“Topper”), died peacefully in her sleep on February 16, 2018.
Anne Elizabeth Bohannon was born July 31, 1923, in Sandersville, GA, the middle of five children born to John and Mary Bohannon.
She grew up in Asheville, NC, where she eventually met Paul Criscillis on a blind date.
After their marriage, Anne lived in Williamsburg for nearly 70 years before moving to Brookhaven, GA, in June 2014 to be near Chuck and Topper, both of whom also lived in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
In Atlanta, she would greet and interact with others with the same blend of humility, respect and genuine warmth that were always her calling cards.
Anne Criscillis was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Criscillis, her parents, John N. and Mary Wynne Bohannon, her two older siblings and her two younger siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Chuck and Topper, Chuck’s wife Diane, Anne’s grandchildren, Rebecca Rivera-Criscillis and Paul Michael Criscillis, and her great grandchildren, Luke Criscillis and Marilyn Rose Rivera-Criscillis.
Funeral services were held Ellison’s Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Monday, February 19 with Rev. Ande Myers officiating.
Interment followed at Highland Cemetery.
The services will be conducted in accordance with Anne’s own wishes, as conveyed in a detailed, handwritten note to her children.
Among those wishes was that there be no flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg.
Condolences may be made to the family at www.ellisonfh.com.
Ellison Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
