Carolyn Day Jones

Carolyn Day Jones, 75, of Derby Trail, Corbin, departed this life on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Baptist Health in Corbin.

She was born on March 30, 1942 in Corbin, to the late James Day and Edwina Hickey Kidd.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Pleas David Jones.

Carolyn was a former employee of the Whitley County Board of Education and a member of the Williamsburg Business Professional Women’s Club. She attended Immanuel Church in Corbin.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Jones (Karen) and Travis David Jones (Rhonda) all of Corbin; two grandchildren, Jackson Pleas Jones and Jillian Marie Jones of Corbin; uncle, Roy Kidd (Sue) of Richmond; many other family and friends to mourn her passing.

The funeral service was held Sunday, January 7, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Lowrie officiating.

Following the service she was laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery.

Donnie Witt Jr., Mike Campbell, Andrew Jackson, Eric Sutton, Taulman “Jackie” Jackson and Robert West served as pallbearers.
