Barton Earl Powers II
Barton Earl Powers II, 65, of Rains Farm Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Tennova North Hospital in Powell, TN.
He was born November 11, 1952 in Covington, to the late Barton Earl Powers and Eliza Mae (Ball) Powers.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lou Powers and a nephew, Keith Moellmann.
Earl was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the 101st Air Assault Unit. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was a former employee of Whitley County Board of Education, a special volunteer for Cumberland River Behavior Health Center and a loyal fan for Whitley County Colonels and the Kentucky Wildcats.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Reynolds) Powers of Williamsburg; daughter, Chrissy Faught (Kenny) of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter, Sarah Grace Faught of Knoxville; three sisters, Ruth Huddleston of Cincinnati, OH, Lois Sawyers (Wayne) of Williamsburg and Bonnie Floyd of Williamsburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara Johnson (Clyde), Randi Johnson and Vernon Reynolds (Debbie); many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The funeral services were held Saturday, December 30, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Powers and Rev. Billy Huddleston officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Wofford Cemetery. Military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
