James H. Sproule

James H. Sproule, 51, of Moreno Valley, CA formerly of Whitley County passed tragically on December 1, 2017.

James will always be remembered as a hardworking and honest man who gave his all to everything he did. He loved the great outdoors, adventures of all kinds, and was always up for a hike, bike ride, run, or a good movie. His spirit and zest for life will be remembered and honored (by many) for years to come.

James is preceded in death by his father GC Sproule; his mother, Marie Sproule; and one brother, Tommy Marsee, all of Emlyn.

He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Sharon Sproule of Moreno Valley, CA; a wonderful dad to two beautiful children, Michelle Helton Eggen of Louisville, and Paul Jason Helton of Corbin; “pet dad” to Baby Wolfie and Nala; Pappy to six wonderful grandchildren, James Tyler Hinkle of Lexington, Bo Hinkle of Woodbine, Allison Hinkle of Louisville, Lucas Hinkle, Louisville, Evan Helton of Barbourville, and Kayla Norris of Corbin; three sisters, Joyce Taylor of Williamsburg, JoAnn Mays of Rockhold, and Lesia Landers of Biloxi, MS and two brothers Stanley Marsee of Elizabethtown, and Leland Marsee of Williamsburg, and a host of other family members and friends who mourn his passing.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday, December 15, at Croley Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at 12 noon Saturday, December 16, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin.
