Cecil P. McFarland

Cecil P. McFarland, 96, of Corbin, passed away on Monday Nov. 27, 2017 at Christian Care Communities in Corbin.

She was born in Whitley County to the late, Charles Hubbs and Maude Bunch Hubbs Hayes.

Cecil was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and loved to garden, cook and feed people. She was a selfless Christian who loved and lived for the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie McFarland; son, James McFarland; grandchildren, Jason “Tank” McFarland and Frank Ross; great granddaughter, Amanda Bearden; and by seven siblings.

Cecil is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Ross Floyd and Helen Hosey; daughter-in-law Barbara McFarland; grandchildren; Tabatha McFarland Harrell (Terry), Susan Young (Tom), Anthony McFarland (Saundra), Andrea Ross Hammons (Sam), Troy Ross, Mark McFarland (Angela), and Jay J.J. Hosey (Amy); 23 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and by a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

The funeral service was held Thursday, November 30, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Rev. Herschel Walker and Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin.
