Ruby Elizabeth Vanover
Ruby Elizabeth Vanover, 84, of Jacks Fork Road, Rockholds, departed this life on Monday, April 24, 2017 at her home.
She was born on October 4, 1932 in Whitley County, to the late Wesley Oban Gibbins and Ida Mae (Young) Gibbins.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Frank Vanover; and three children, Tommy Eugene Vanover, Jackie Wayne Vanover, and Larry George Henry Vanover, Sr.
She is survived by her seven daughters, Linda Phyllis Nichols (husband Ancil) of Corbin, Brenda Gail Slaughter (husband Jessie) of Louisville, Glenda Ann Meadors (husband Don) of North Carolina, Connie Kay Rainwater of Williamsburg, Betty Lou Bowling (husband Clint) of Rockholds, Sherry Marie Mills (husband Abe) of Williamsburg, and Dessie Louise Kidd (husband Stanley) of Corbin; two sons, Frank Jackson Vanover, Jr. (wife Lisa) of Williamsburg and Jessie James Vanover of Ohio; daughter-in-law, Sheila Vanover of Rockholds; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Hayes of Williamsburg and Martha Kidwell of Lexington; two brothers, A.J. Gibbins and Bo Gibbins of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
The funeral service was held Friday, April 28, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Medlin and Raymond Turner officiating.
She was laid to rest in the New Mt. Zion Cemetery on Croley Bend Road.
