Walter K. Reynolds
Walter K. Reynolds, 92, of Moore Road, Williamsburg, departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
He was born on December 24, 1924 in Whitley County, to the late Richard Clarence Reynolds and Mary Stella Monhollen Reynolds.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Chloe Peace Reynolds; a brother, Vester Reynolds and his daughter-in-law, Pamela Marie Reynolds.
Walter K. was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force having served from June 14, 1943 to December 9, 1945 during World War II in England.
He graduated from Poplar Creek High School in 1948 after his discharge. He graduated from Cumberland College in 1950 and Eastern Kentucky University in 1955 with a B.S. and a Masters degree. Walter K. was a teacher from 1951 to 1986, where he taught grade school for five years and high school history and social studies for thirty years. He was a member of the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #490 F & AM since 1967. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church since 1984. He was also a member of the Poplar Creek Baptist Church from 1967 to 1975.
He is survived by his son Dallas Reynolds of Amelia, OH; one brother, Eulis Reynolds and his wife Hester Marie of Nancy; two sisters, Evelyn Cox of Williamsburg and Alma Irvin of Murray; two grandsons, Darron Reynolds (Jenelle) of Milford, OH and Brian D. Reynolds (Danielle) of Amelia, OH; great-granddaughter, Aniston Marie Reynolds of Amelia, OH; step-great grandson, Trevor Couch of Milford, OH; sister-in-law, Eva Reynolds of Williamsburg; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
A Masonic service was conducted by the Williamsburg Masonic Lodge #490 F & AM on Sunday at the funeral home.
The funeral service was held Monday, April 10, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Bailey and Rev. Doyle Lester officiating.
He was laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery. Military graveside honors were conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin.
