Vehicle enforcement: Driver of speeding truck admits to being under influence of drugs
A Tennessee truck driver who was initially stopped for speeding Wednesday afternoon, admitted to law enforcement admitted that he was driving while under the influence of drugs.
Kentucky State Police –Vehicle Enforcement Officer Tyler Teaney arrested 50-year-old David L. Davis of Unicoi, Tennessee during a traffic stop near the 15-mile mark on Interstate 75 in Whitley County.
Vehicle Enforcement Officer Steve Douglas, public affairs office at Region 4 in London, said Davis gave consent to search the truck, whereupon law enforcement recovered prescription Oxycone not in its proper container, Synthetic marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and an unknown powder that is believed to be other controlled substances.
Davis was charged with prescription not in proper container, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified, possession of synthetic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and DUI – commercial vehicle and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
