A.B. Forman
A.B. Forman, 82, of Jellico, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 20, 2016 at the Tennova Lafollette Medical Center in Lafollette, TN.
A.B. retired from James River Coal Company where he served as director of personnel.
A.B. was very active in the community, serving as Mayor of Jellico from 1964-1970. Just a partial list of accomplishments includes: securing funds to build Indian Mountain State Park; new water and sewer plants, Jellico Community Hospital, Tennessee Welcome Center and rest areas, development of zoning for street and sidewalks and updated utilities.
A.B. was preceded in death by his mother and father; Pearl Grady Forman and Marshall Forman, daughter; Tonya Forman, brother; Ervin Forman, mother-in-law; Doris Lansden.
He was a faithful member of the Jellico First Baptist Church, serving in any capacity that was needed, and will be greatly missed in the community.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Lansden Forman; daughter, Angie Forman; son, Keith and wife Penny Forman; granddaughter, Hanna Forman and fiancé Jordan Partin.
Funeral services were held Thursday September 22, at the Jellico First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert C. Dunston officiating.
The eulogy was given by Campbell County Veteran’s Affairs Officer Kevin Walden.
Interment was held Friday September 23, in the Jellico Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 154. Serving as pallbearers Keith Forman, Darrell Dykes, Matt Tackett, Jordan Partin, Brent Johnson and Dalton Moses.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Jellico First Baptist Church.
