Fourth brother in murder plot caught

Kentucky State Police and Williamsburg police apprehended a Williamsburg man early Tuesday afternoon, who was indicted last week for criminal facilitation to commit murder.
KSP Detective Colan Harrell said authorities were searching for Jason M. Anderson, 32, of 198 Jackson Subdivision Road, since his July 14 indictment along with four of his brothers in connection with the June 20 slaying of Larry Jones.

Harrell said he and Williamsburg Police Lt. Wayne Bird tracked Anderson down at his residence Tuesday shortly after noon.
Harrell said he and Bird went to the residence for a random visit looking for Anderson hoping to find him home.
As Harrell knocked on the front door, Anderson tried running out the back door where Bird was waiting, Harrell noted.
At that point, Anderson was arrested without incident and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
On July 14, a grand jury charged James Allen Anderson, 33, and his brother, James W. Anderson, 39, both of Williamsburg, for murder and criminal complicity to commit murder in the death of Jones, 34, who was found dead lying in a ditch beside Cane Gap Road about 1:30 a.m.
During a preliminary hearing last week, Harrell testified that James Allen Anderson admitted shooting Jones in the head three times with a .22 caliber rifle, but claimed it was in self-defense.
Harrell said two of the wounds were classified as contact wounds meaning the barrel of the .22 rifle used was either touching the skin or inches from it when fired.
The grand jury also charged Jason Anderson and John Anderson, 44, both of Williamsburg, with criminal facilitation to commit murder for allegedly “aiding James A. Anderson and/or James W. Anderson in the murder of Larry D. Jones,” according to their indictments.
“This doesn’t mean that they were involved in the actual act,” Harrell said. “It means they allegedly aided somebody after the act.”
Criminal facilitation to commit murder is a class ‘D’ felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Murder is punishable by up to life in prison.
James W. Anderson and James Allen Anderson are half brothers. John and Jason Anderson are also brothers of the two men, but Harrell said that he’s not sure if they are full brothers or half brothers, Harrell said.
John Anderson turned himself in to police the day after he was indicted. Both James W. and James Allen Anderson also turned themselves in to police.
