Man arrested for nearly hitting officers in chase
A Whitley County man was jailed early Monday morning after a wild police chase that started in north Corbin and ended in Woodbine.
Dustin R. Faulkner, 25, of Williamsburg, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, driving under the influence of drugs, and numerous other traffic offenses relating to the chase.
Kentucky State Police Sgt. Steve Walker attempted to pull over Faulkner on Exit 29 of I-75 at about 2:30 a.m. Monday. Police say Faulkner failed to stop the Jeep he was driving and sped away, turning on to KY 312.
Corbin police joined the pursuit.
Corbin Police officer Jason Williams says he turned onto Seventh Street from Depot Street when he found Faulkner heading straight toward him on the wrong side of the road. Faulkner turned onto Main Street and traveled the wrong direction for awhile nearly hitting Corbin Officer David Maiden, then sped down KY Hwy 26, and turned onto Hwy 6 where his vehicle spun completely around allowing police to trap him and capture him.
Faulkner was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center after the chase ended.
