It was the Bobcats who got on the scoreboard first. The touchdown came after Breathiest recovered a Whitley County fumble and drove down the field. Stacey scored from two yards out with 4:15 left in the game. The ‘Cats missed the extra point.
The Colonels then went on a 20-0 spurt to take the lead. Shawn Bard scored on a fumble recovery and when League added the extra point the Colonels led 7-6. Rider scored nine minutes later and Tease’s kick pushed Whitley County ahead, 14-6.
Rider opened the third quarter with a 59 yard run but the PAT failed with 11:46 and the Colonels looked to be in control with a 20-7 lead.
However, the fourth quarter belonged to Breathiest County as Robinson scored on a 51 pass from Fugue with 9:27 left in the game. The Colonels couldn’t hold off the rally as Breathiest County tied the score with 2:19 remaining when Paul Holland broke loose for a two-yard run.
