Lady Jackets advance

The Williamsburg Lady Jackets have advanced to the second-round of the 13th Region All “A” Tournament with a 41-35 win over the Oneida Baptist Lady Mountaineers.
The win saw the return of leading scorer Kaitlin Faulkner, who led the Lady Jackets with 11 points. Shawnda Lovett added 10 points to the Williamsburg attack.
Williamsburg eased out to a 14-12 lead then held the Lady Jackets to four points in the second quarter to take a 25-6 lead in the game.
OBI, led by Tara Koffa, tried to rally in the third period but Williamsburg stayed ahead of the Lady Mountaineers. Koffa led all scorers with 19 points.
The victory sends Williamsburg to the second-round where they will take on tournament-favorite, Middlesboro Thursday night at 7:30.
