SECOND PLACE
The Whitley County Colonels took second place in the Blount (Tenn.) High School Wrestling Invitational last weekend with junior Aaron Back being named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the entire tournament. Back took first in the 152 class.
It was one of the biggest meets of the year for the Colonels as 13 teams were entered. “We finished third last year but took second this time,” said Whitley County Coach Dusty Brown.
J. T. Siler (111), Duncan Caddell (140), Scotty Partin (145), Aaron Back (152) and Samual Vanover (189) all finished first in the competition. Two others made it to the finals, Zack Bray (103) and Jeff Couch (125). Steven Back finished third in his 135 class.
The Colonels recently finished ninth in the prestigious Bradley Central Tournament in Chattanooga. Whitley County will be back in Knoxville this weekend for the Hall’s Invitational.
