Corbin man dies Saturday after minivan falls on him
A north Corbin man was killed Saturday evening when his Ford minivan fell on top of him as he was trying to change a tire.
Larry L. Perry was found about 5:30 p.m. trapped underneath the van outside his home on Robert E. Cox Road in North Corbin by a friend who had been talking to him by phone, Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective Charles Loomis said.
"The friend said Perry quit talking," Loomis said. "When he couldn’t get hold of Perry, he rushed to the house, found him underneath the van and called 9-1-1."
Loomis said Perry had crawled under the van to try to free the right-front wheel, which had seized. The van rolled forward, fell off the jack and onto Perry.
Perry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies, Kentucky State Police, West Knox Fire Department and Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County responded to the scene.

this is why i dont do any of my own repairs anymore not worth it if you dont have the right equipment
I feel sorry for the man having to find his friend pinned under the car and already dead. It is horrorfying to watch a friend or family member die. I’ve been there in war and home watching someone pass away and there is nothing you could do. The man should have called his friend and asked for him to come and help him with the tire.
