CORBIN SOFTBALL

The Lady Redhounds softball team participated in the Southwestern Round Robin Friday and Saturday at Pulaski Southwestern and came home with a 1-2 record. Coach Chris Hart’s Lady Redhounds lost to Southwestern and Madison Central, but edged Somerset, 4-2.
“I was very encouraged by how much improvement we made in our play this past weekend,” said Hart. “As our younger players are gaining some game experience they are improving and the whole team is playing better. The teams we played this weekend are very good and even though we dropped 2-of-3 we were in contention to win in all the games.”
“So far this season the win/loss record of the teams we have played is 11-3. I think this shows we have played a very tough early season schedule and that will pay dividends for us down the road,” said Hart.
Junior Morgan Brock threw all three games for the Lady Redhounds. Hart said, “Morgan did a good job of pitching for us this weekend. She is a competitor and always battles hard for us.”
“The only concern I have is we are still learning our new positions,” he said. “As we get more game experience under our belt, we will become a very good team.”
