DeRossett-Ballou to unite in marriage
Roger and Pamela DeRossett of Prestonsburg, would like to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Selena
Marie DeRossett, to Dempsey Lawrence Ballou, son of David and Jamie Ballou of Corbin. Selena is the granddaughter of Allene DeRossett and the late T.J. DeRossett of Prestonsburg and Virginia Hale and the late Linzie Hale of Prestonsburg. Dempsey is the grandson of Sam and Peggy Ballou of Corbin and D.L. and Alice Lynch of Corbin.
Selena is a 2005 graduate of Johnson Central High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Louisville. In 2009 she graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Selena will graduate with highest honors in May 2010 with a Master of Arts in Teaching in Middle and Secondary English Education. Dempsey is a 2005 graduate of Corbin High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Louisville. In 2009 he graduated with highest honors with his Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dempsey will graduate with highest honors in May 2010 with a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Harlan, Ky. Dempsey will be working for Sugar Ridge Land Company in Harlan.
The wedding will take place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at First Baptist Church Irene Cole Memorial in Prestonsburg, Ky. A reception will follow immediately at the May Lodge of Jenny Wiley State Resort Park.
