Ohio man caught driving stolen vehicle, arrested after short chase

An Ohio man was arrested Sunday after leading on a short chase on I-75.

Joshua Hoffman, 21, of Freemond, OH, was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment of a police officer, resisting arrest, speeding, driving on an expired license and DUI following the chase.

According to Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Steve Douglas, Hoffman was clocked driving 74 mph in a work zone near mile marker 20 near Williamsburg. The Pontiac Grand Am he was driving had been reported stolen.

Williamsburg Police Officer Mike Hamblin attempted to stop Hoffman to no avail. He was joined in the chase by fellow officer Jim Pool who was able to get in front of the vehicle and force it to slow to a stop. Officers had to bust the driver side window of the car and use a Tazer on Hoffman in order to arrest him.
