Police recover thousands of dollars in stolen welding equipment
On Monday, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11, London, recovered several thousand dollars worth of welding equipment that had been stolen from a business in London.
During a routine traffic stop of a 2002, red, Nissan van, Trooper Fred Pennington and Lieutenant Curtis O’Bannon discovered several pieces of welding equipment that were determined to be stolen. Further investigation led to the discovery of several more pieces of stolen welding equipment at the residence of James F. (Jimmy) Tankersley on Lily Road.
All the stolen equipment recovered was released to the London Police Department, who is investigating the theft.
Trooper Pennington arrested Marty W. Stewart, 33, of Lily on several traffic offenses.
London Police Department Detective Sergeants Russell Baker and Blaine Inman are continuing the investigation into the theft of the welding equipment.
