Month-long search ends in arrest of two fugitives Tuesday

A nearly month long search ended by Williamsburg and Kentucky State Police for a wanted suspect ended in the arrest of two people Tuesday.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Les Moses charged Tony G. Petrey, 37, of Canadatown, with probation violation.
Moses also charged Petrey’s companion, Cassie M. Tolliver, 19, of Williamsburg, with second-degree hindering prosecution/apprehension.

Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson received a tip Tuesday about a subject residing in Williamsburg that was possibly wanted for felony parole violation and other charges.

Moses, Williamsburg Assistant Police Chief Rick Mosley and several other Williamsburg officers went to the Mount Morgan Apartments, and found a vehicle matching the description of Petrey’s vehicle, Jackson said in a press release.

Officers went to the residence, which was rented by Tolliver, and found Petrey inside, Jackson noted.

Moses arrested both without incident and lodged them in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Petrey has other felony charges pending from a Canadatown incident last month where he fled from police, according to the press release.

"The Williamsburg Police Department and Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 11 have been working together over the last four weeks to located the wanted suspect," Jackson said.

Officers taking part in the investigation included: Moses, Mosley, K-9 Officer Brandon Prewitt, K-9 "Rico", and Officers Jim Pool and Jason Strunk.
