Williamsburg police discover marijuana while executing two search warrants
Williamsburg police recovered marijuana while executing two search warrants at two different locations on June 2 in connection with an investigation regarding illegal drugs and drug trafficking.
The first warrant was executed at a 2470 Croley Bend Road residence where police discovered six marijuana plants growing in containers around the front porch, according to a Williamsburg Police Department press release.
"Each plant appeared to have been taken very good care of, and was starting to mature with each standing over one foot tall," Public Affairs Officer Shawn Jackson said.
Police also discovered a small amount of processed marijuana inside the residence, Jackson said.
Williamsburg Police Officer Brandon White arrested Paul E. Jody Jr., 43, of 2470 Croley Bend Road, and charged him with cultivating marijuana over five plants and possession of marijuana.
Williamsburg police executed the second search warrant at a 100 Cool Camp Road residence after receiving numerous tips and complaints about illegal drug transactions allegedly taking place in the area, Jackson said.
Police discovered a small amount of marijuana, and large amount paraphernalia used in the selling and distribution of marijuana, Jackson said.
Police also seized a bag of suspected marijuana seeds and a "very large amount of small plastic bags," Jackson said.
White charged William C. "Huck" Huckaby, 44, with trafficking in marijuana less than eight ounces and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
"Mr. Huckaby is a repeat offender and has an extensive drug history," Jackson noted.
White is continuing both investigations and other arrests are possible.
