VIDEO: Fire destroys north Corbin home; donations being accepted for family

A north Corbin residence was totally destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning, and one member of a local fire deparment is helping the family affected by the blaze by accepting donations of clothing and other essential items on their behalf.
Members of the West Knox Volunteer Fire Department were called to the home of Brandon and Monica Ison at about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday — a single-wide mobile home located on Piney Hill Road just behind the Baptist Regional Medical Center Fitness Center. When firefighters arrived, the trailer was in flames.
Firefighters worked for about two hours to totally extinguish the fire. Fire officials believe the blaze may have been caused by a stove that had been giving the family problems.
No one was home when the fire started. The couple has two young daughters, ages four and six. The mobile home is considered a total loss.
Steve Duncum, a member of the West Knox Volunteer Fire Dept., and his wife Michelle are accepting donations on behalf of the family. Needed are: Girls clothes, size 4T to 6T and size 12 and 13 little girls shoes; mens’ 42-32 size pants, 3X shirts and size 13 shoes; womens size 16 pants and 2X shirts, size 10 shoes.

I am praying for this family I hope they pull through ok. I went through a fire about 25 years ago and it was the most awful experience of my life. You feel like everything in your life has been turned upside down and it will never get better again but it does given enough time.
