Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy injured during investigation of Keavy meth lab

A Laurel County Sheriff’s deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment for exposure to chemicals during an investigation of a methamphetamine lab in Mill Creek Estates in Keavy Friday morning.
According Chief Deputy Jr. McKnight, Deputy Richard Sapcut was treated and released from Baptist Regional Medical Center.
"He (Sapcut) is back at home," McKnight said.
According to Sheriff Fred Yaden, Sapcut went to the apartments at 208 Mill Creek Estates to investigate an anonymous tip of a methamphetamine lab.
Inside the apartment, Sapcut and Deputy E.R. Rudder spoke with Laura J. Hammons, 19 and James Moore, 28. Sapcut reported a strong odor associated with a meth lab. When asked, Hammons and Moore gave him consent to search the apartment.
The search turned up a one-step methamphetamine lab. However, Sapcut was exposed to chemicals from the lab and was transported by ambulance to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
Hammons and Moore were each arrested. However, officials at the Laurel County Detention Center said they were not lodged there.
Along with Sheriff Yaden and his deputies, members of the Two Rivers Drug Task Force were also on scene.
McKnight said Hammons and Moore may face federal charges in the incident.
No one answered calls to the Two Rivers Drug Task Force office in London.

James Moore is a sorry excuse for a “man”. He’s nothing but a thug wanna be punk. He suckered the mother of 3 of his kids into signing her car over into his name. As soon as she did he walked out and left her and the babies with no way to get to work (which he wouldn’t know what a job is considering he’s never had one), Dr.s appts. or the grocery store. He’s never paid a dime of child support. He has a 4th child by another mother and doesn’t support it either. He’s spent more time in jail than out. This time they need to keep him since he obviously is never going to be a productive member of society. Maybe too if they keep his sorry butt in jail he won’t be making anymore babies that taxpayers have to foot the bill to support since he has no intentions to.
