Three arrested after W’burg police find meth lab in vehicle
Williamsburg police arrested three people on methamphetamine related charges late Thursday night after finding a working meth lab inside their vehicle.
Police charged Colen Stevens, Trisha Miller and Joshua Miller with manufacture of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of meth precursors, and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance-methamphetamine.
The arrests were made after Williamsburg police responded to a complaint at Wal-Mart about 11:05 p.m. in reference to three people purchasing items used to manufacture methaphetamine, according to a press release from Chief Wayne Bird. All three appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine, and gave police permission to search their vehicle where police discovered methamphetamine, and a working one-step meth lab behind the passenger’s seat in a 20 ounce bottle, Bird said.
In addition, police discovered several items used in the process of manufacturing methamphetamine.
The Laurel County Department of Public Safety was contacted and removed the meth lab from the vehicle. Officers involved in the investigation included Sgt. Mike Taylor, Officer Brandon White, and Officer Elijah Hunter. They were assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police Troopers Les Moses and Tony Dingess.
