Complaint leads Laurel Deputies to meth labs in Keavy

Kenneth Pennington of Keavy and Jeffery Queen of Corbin are in the Laurel County Jail following their arrest on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

According to Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, public affairs officer for the Laurel County, about 1:15 a.m., Sunday deputies Chuck Johnson and Brett Reeves responded to a complaint of a possible meth lab on Storms off of Ky. 363 in Keavy and found Pennington, 58 and Queen, 44 along with two active one-step labs, two HCL generators and numerous components used to make meth.

Pennington and Queen were each charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine.

As of Monday afternoon, Pennington and Queen remain in jail. Bond for each has been set at $25,000 cash.

The Laurel County Division of Public Safety Director Albert Hale was called to assist in the decontamination.
