Corbin in BCIT
The Corbin Lady Redhounds will play in the Boyle County Invitational this weekend. The Lady Redhounds will play 17th ranked Franklin County Friday night at 7 p.m. at Danville’s Millinium Park.
Corbin will take on Mercer County (15-5) at 8:30 p.m.
The Lady Redhounds will play in the single elimination portion of the tournament Saturday morning depending on their seed from pool play.
Nine teams will make up the three pools. Pool 1 includes West Jessamine, Middlesboro and host Boyle County. Pool 2 will see Garrard County, Marion County and Martha Layne Collins High School battle it out.
Franklin County (15-3) is fresh off the championship of the First Priority Classic held at Whitley County. The Lady Flyers led by all-state pitcher, Emily Hampton, defeated Clay County, South Laurel and Simon Kenton to win the tournament.
Mercer County comes into the tournament with just two losses to Kentucky teams. The Lady Scotties lost to Garrard County (10-8) and Boyle County (1-0). The other three losses came in the Eastman/Kodak Tournament in Kingsport, Tenn.
