Two arrested by Sheriff’s Dept. on methamphetamine charges
Two local residents are being held in the Whitley County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 cash bonds following their arrests on methamphetamine related charges.
Jonathan L. Siler, 25, of Williamsburg, and Tabetha E. Patrick, 20, of Rockholds, both pleaded not guilty to manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a meth precursor, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia during their arraignments Thursday afternoon.
District Judge Cathy Prewitt declined to lower their $50,000 cash bonds and scheduled Sept. 19 preliminary hearings in their cases.
Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Cody Harrell arrested the duo about 10:04 p.m. on Sept. 13 after responding to a complaint of possible trespassing at 5370 US25W in Williamsburg.
When Harrell arrived at the scene, he located the pair in 2004 Dodge car, and through the investigation discovered several ingredients used to manufacture methamphetamine and a large amount of drug paraphernalia, including hypodermic needles and syringes, Sheriff Colan Harrell wrote in a press release.
Among the items discovered were pseudophedrine tablets, sulfuric acid, drain opener, liquid Coleman fuel, and several packages of lithium batteries, according to arrest citations.
Deputy Harrell also discovered a substance believed to be a narcotic in a needle and syringe, according to arrest citations.
Sgt. Shawn Jackson, Deputy John Hill and Deputy Tim Baker assisted Deputy Harrell at the scene.
