UPDATED: Rockholds woman arrested for stabbing man during argument Sunday

Matoaka Hensley
A Rockholds woman has been arrested and jailed after allegedly stabbing another person during an argument Sunday afternoon.
Forty-six-year-old Matoaka Hensley, of Carr Road, has been charged with second-degree assault in the wake of the incident. The alleged assault occurred around 2:00 p.m. Sunday, according to Whitley County Sherriff Colan Harrell.
Police say that Hensley and Jamie Canady, 34, of Rockholds, got into an argument. During the course of the disagreement, Hensley stabbed Canady with a knife. The argument took place at Canady’s home.
"What exactly they were arguing over, they didn’t say," Harrell said. "We just really don’t know what started it all at this point."
Harrell said police have not recovered the weapon used in the stabbing. Hensley left the residence before authorities arrived and, presumably, disposed of it in the interim.
Canady was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin to be treated for knife wounds. Harrrell said she was stabbed in the ribs and did not retaliate after the attack.
Hensley was arrested shortly after the incident. Police are continuing a follow-up investigation. Canady’s condition was not known as of press time.
Hensley is currently being held in the Whitley County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond.
Whitley County Deputy Sheriff Cody Harrell is leading the investigation into the case. He was assisted by deputies Jeff Anderson, David Lennon, Ken Shepherd and Jason Caudell of the Williamsburg Police Department.
