SENIOR FAREWELL
The Corbin Redhounds defeated two teams to win their final home regular season golf match Tuesday afternoon. Senior Cody Ellis shot a three-under par to lead the Redhounds past South Laurel and Middlesboro.
Corbin, 7-1 in regular season play, shot a team total 140, which was even par as a team. South Laurel was second with a 155 and Middlesboro came in at 166.
Luke Cooney celebrated his Senior Day with an even par 36. Connor Maguet and Henry Moore also finished with even pars (36). Alex Davis was three over for the day with a 39.
South Laurel was led by Trey Martin’s 36. Zach Royster and Tad Barton added a pair of 39’s. Jake Arnold had a 41 and Tanner Sibor shot a 47.
Michael Wilson and Michael Robbins led Middlesboro with a 39. Luke Boyd had a 44 and Eric Francis came in at 45.
Cody Vaughn of Lynn Camp fired a 51 for the nine-hole course.
The Corbin JV shot a team total of 164. Russ Tolliver led the pack with a 37. Others included: Brandon Elliott 41, Kenton Frederick 42, John Austin Childress 44 and Nick Vorbeck 49.
The Redhounds will be off until Sept. 8 when they travel to the Covington Catholic Invitational.
