PIGSKIN PREVIEW
Corbin at Casey Co.
Where: Casey Co.
When: Friday, 7:30
Records: Casey Co. 3-6,
Corbin 3-5
Series: Corbin 11-0
What to expect: You have to expect a Corbin win since the Rebels have never beaten the Redhounds in football. The Rebels have won three gamesm beating Clinton Co. (52-8), McCreary Central (42-12) and Metcalfe Co. (14-6) last week.
Who to Watch: The Rebels have a talented quarterback in Alex Bolin. He is their Mr. Everything on the field. Other players to watch are Rance Carman, Luke Patterson, Wyatt Bishop and Forrest Turney.
The victor: This one should be an easy win for the Redhounds, but not a team they can afford to overlook. They have scored in every game they have played this season. Corbin 44, Casey Co. 14.
Whitley Co. at Letcher Central
Where: Letcher Central
When: Friday, 7:30
Records: Letcher Cent. 1-6,
Whitley Co. 5-3
Series: Letcher leads 4-3
What to expect: Letcher Central has given the Colonels fits the in all five previous meetings. Every regular season game has been decided by 10 points or less. As strange as it may see the visitor has won all five meetings.
Who to Watch: First year coach Paul Rains has seen his team get off to a rough start. The Cougars are 1-6, but could slide into the three-seed with a win over Whitley County. The young Cougars have given up 357 points, an average of 44 points per game.
The victor: The Colonels failed to show up in last week’s loss to Harlan County. So, will the real Colonels be ready for the Cougars. With a little luck and a win over Letcher Central, the Colonels still have a shot at the number one seed in the district. The Colonels will come out ready for a 34-20 win.
Lynn Camp at Williamsburg
Where: Findlay-Legion Field
When: Friday, 7:30
Records: Williamsburg, 7-1
Lynn Camp 3-5
Series: Jackets 42-20-1
What to expect: It’s the 64th meeting between the two smallest schools in the area. Lynn Camp has a new coach, Phil Russell and the Yellow Jackets have a young, but experienced team.
Who to Watch: Quarterback
Dalton Sizemore, WHS and Aaron Mills of Lynn Camp are the guys to watch. They have been instrumental in how their teams come out and play.
The victor: The ‘Cats need the win worse because the Jackets have secured the number one seed. Williamsburg will be too much for the ‘Cats to handle, 44-14.
