Gray man arrested in connection with East Bernstadt robbery

Christopher Disney is currently lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
A Gray man named as a suspect in a Laurel County robbery was arrested earlier this week.
Christopher Disney, 33, was arrested Monday after police in Laurel County identified him as a suspect who robbed A & B Quick Stop in East Bernstadt at gunpoint Dec. 19.
Video surveillance collected from A&B Quick Stop showed a man armed with a semiautomatic pistol and wearing a black ski mask, camouflage jacket, blue jeans and brown boots.
An employee from a neighboring store contacted police the next day and said a suspicious man who fit the same description was in their store just before the robbery.
After police compared video surveillance from both stores, they determined the suspicious man was the same person as the robbery suspect.
Police also noticed the man had driven a yellow Dodge Dakota truck.
After images from surveillance video were aired during television news broadcasts, police were tipped off that the man could be Disney.
Officers with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department accompanied Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Roy Gambrel to a location off Sam Parker Road in Knox County, where they positively identified Disney as the suspect and recovered a CO2 powered BB pistol that was believed to have been used during the robbery, according to police.
While at the residence, officers also noticed a yellow Dodge Dakota truck which belonged to Disney, according to the arrest warrant.
He was charged with robbery, taken to the Knox County Detention Center and later taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
