NIBROC musical entertainment to be mostly local lineup this year
The entertainment lineup for the 2013 NIBROC Festival has been announced, and this year, organizers says they are going in a wildly different direction with an eclectic mix of local and area talent capped on the final night by folk rock band Holy Ghost Tent Revival out of Greensboro, NC.
Corbin Main Street Manager Andy Salmons unveiled the lineup Tuesday.
"I’m really excited, actually, that we can get this much local talent playing consecutively to show off what they can do," Salmons said. "It represents the whole spectrum of music, everything from rock, pop, classic rock, country, bluegrass – the whole gamut."

Was pleased with the News Journal and its new formatting. Very impressive. Colors add to its impressiveness. Were can I find pictures of the Nibroc
I will have to say that if this stays the norm for Corbin, we will have to get better vendors and maybe not put them in the corner like they got in trouble or something. I went down there and checked it out. I realize many people want to see some old washed up bands from days past but most of the time those aren’t even close to the original line up. I did find something strange about this year. Corbin got tons of money in alcohol sales and then scaled back the entertainment. I think personally this should have been done pre alcohol money. Corbin needs to find a new nibroc identity. If you look at different festival around the state many of them have some sort of theme year after year. Old Fashioned days, red bud festival and so on and so on. Corbin should pick something out and keep a theme. I would suggest something to do with the Railroad since Corbin wouldn’t be what it has become without it. Hope Corbin finds a identity and hope that it can be fun without being irresponsible.
Corbin has shot themselves in the foot this year. Not only on entertainment but also only having around half the vendors of past years. You want to talk SSI kids ? Mark my word that will be about all that attend this year. My family averaged spending at least $200 each year at Nibroc because we attended every night, but this year they will not get our money. WTG city leaders.
Well honest abe, why don’t you pay for your entertainment instead of wanting everything handed to you. I am glad it is being dialed back. Maybe local people will be able to hang out and socialize without being trampled on by SSI kids.
Well looks like NIBROC going to really suck this year the list of entertainment dont look like a real crowd getter
