Police: Corbin man caught on video destroying downtown decorations

A Corbin man was arrested on Halloween for destroying decorative displays in downtown Corbin in broad daylight — and part of the destruction was captured on video.
Twenty-year-old Thomas Hyde has been charged with two counts of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest as a result of the incident.
According to Corbin Police, Hyde was seen by a pedestrian at about 1:45 p.m. Thursday smashing pumpkins that were part of a "seasonal harvest" display on south Main Street. The pedestrian captured Hyde in the act on video.
Lt. Rick Baker responded, viewed the video and was able to identify Hyde as the culprit and went to his residence and spoke with family members, but was unable to locate him. Later that evening, around 9:17 p.m., police again received a complaint that a similar display at the north end of Main Street was destroyed. Captain Coy Wilson responded to that complaint and witnessed Hyde in the act.
Wilson apprehended Hyde after a short foot chase. Police say he smashed approximately 43 pumpkins for both incidents.
Hyde was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center, but has been released on bond pending trial.

Maybe he can smash pumpkins for Kenny Mobley at the Whitley County Detention Farm. He may even be involved in the hoeing of corn. [Pun intended].
Look very closely at this man because your tax dollars are going to make sure he has a bed, food and out of the weather at our expense; prison. The “small” things he has done is just leading up to bigger and worse acts of crimes. Jerk!
I spoke up for this kid when he kissed the homecoming contestants. I also saw those pumpkins after they had been smashed and was disgusted that someone would do such a senseless thing. Grow up, Mr. Hyde, it isn’t funny anymore.
