Corbin schools closed Thursday for repair of water line breaks
The Corbin Independent School District will be closed Thursday, January 9, due to major water line breaks at Corbin Primary and Corbin Middle Schools.
The water line break at Corbin Primary School is located in the cafeteria and caused flooding of the cafeteria area. Repairs are not possible until Thursday.
The leak at Corbin Middle School is in a city water line located behind the school’s gym. City crews are on site working on the problem. The water flow to the middle school and surrounding houses has been cut off until repairs can be completed. There will be a boil-water advisory in effect when the repairs are completed.
In addition, the parking lots at three of the district’s schools continue to be icy.
The closing on Thursday will make a total of five [5] days missed for Corbin students. Currently the last instructional day for students will now be Wednesday, May 14, 2014. This date is subject to change with additional school closing days.
