Geneva Brown Mays Prewitt, age 95, of Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life surrounded by family on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her home.
Geneva was born on August 5, 1928 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Irvin and Rosa Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Rosa Brown; husband, Milton “Sonny” Prewitt; son, Nick Mays; daughter, Yvonne Shaw; brothers, Ellis and Doyle Brown; sisters, Opal Faulkner and Eva Reynolds.
Geneva loved her church family at Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 66 years.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Ballou (Dr. Robert); brother, Damon Brown; daughter-in-law, Dee Mays; son-in-law, Dr. Frank Shaw; grandchildren, Monica Davidson (Mark), Jennifer Stotz (John), Courtney Mansell, Amy Reimers (Mike), Todd Shaw (Katie), Katelyn Hawkins (Chad), and Cody Mays; 14 great grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Dixie Taylor; special neighbors, Bruce, Shanda, and Gloria Weddle; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM until the funeral hour on Wednesday, April 24, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Ballou, Rev. Doyle Lester, and Rev. Ryan Bailey officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church.
