PUBLIC NOTICE:

The 2022 Whitley County Sheriff Tax Account Audit Report has been released. A copy of the complete audit report is on file and available for public inspection during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. If any citizen wishes to obtain a complete copy including financial statement information for their personal use, copies will be made available upon request. Copies will be charged at the rate of 25 cents per page. Copies of the financial statement prepared in accordance with KRS 424.220 are available to the public at no cost from The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed Proposals for the following work will be received by the Whitley County Fiscal Court in the manner and on the date hereinafter specified for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc., necessary for the remodel of the exterior of the Old Whitley County Courthouse.

All Bids shall be marked on the sealed envelope “Exterior Repair & Painting”

SPECS:

Replace several wood rotted areas in various locations around all four sides of the eves atop the roof line while keeping with the general aesthetic of the current building.

Re-caulk all windows and reseal all vents around the courthouse and replace all light bulbs/light housings in the courthouse eves and replace damaged chandelier, cleanout and clear all gutters, seal down spouts, repair any concrete damage to the building, place a boot or other seal for the coaxial cable coming into the building

PAINTING: Painting project includes all columns and bases, all panels and eves.

PRE-BID MEETING: There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting and walk around to review the specs on this project for any contractor wishing to bid on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM. A complete list of specs will be provided at this meeting.

TIME TO COMPLETE PROJECT: Contractor awarded bid will have 120 days from the date of award to complete the project. Contractor will also be required to sign a contract.

Contractors must submit their bids to the Whitley County Judge/Executive at the Whitley County Courthouse, 200 Main Street, or mailed to P.O. Box 237 Williamsburg, Kentucky, 40769 on or before 10:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at which time bids will be opened and read aloud.   Bids will then be presented to the Fiscal Court at the regular scheduled meeting at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.

No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened.  Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.

Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The Whitley County Fiscal Court may make purchase(s) using funds received under the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program pursuant to the American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”). The use of ARPA funds for purchases obligates the bidder or seller to comply with certain terms and conditions, program regulations, without limitation, set forth in 2 C.F.R, Part 200, and other applicable law. Any selected bidder will be required to execute a purchase agreement including, without limitation, a requirement that such bidder will adhere to the requirements attached to ARPA funds.
