PUBLIC NOTICE
An ordinance amending the Whitley County Budget for Fiscal Year 2013- 2014, to include unanticipated receipts increasing/decreasing from the General, Jail, LGEA, Ambulance, Occupational Tax and Tourism funds in the amount of $176,472.00 and increasing/decreasing expenditures from the General, Jail, LGEA, Ambulance, Occupational Tax and Tourism funds in the amount of $176,472.00 was passed on 06/17/14. A copy of the Ordinance with full text is available for public inspection at the Office of the County Judge Executive during normal business hours.

BID NOTICE:
The Whitley County Board of Education is now accepting sealed bids on repair and resurfacing of four (4) tennis courts.
Bid packets may be picked up at the Whitley County Board of Education, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky 40769.
Bids will be opened on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Whitley County Board of Education, 300 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky at 10:00 a.m. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
Notice of Blasting Schedule
Alden Resources, LLC, 332 W. Cumberland Parkway, Corbin, KY 40701, phone number (606)523-9760, gives notice that blasting operations will be conducted on its coal mine permit number 918-0447, covering 378.54 acres. Latitude: 36° 47’ 01.68”, Longitude: 84° 03’ 37.63”
The proposed operation is located approximately 0.5 miles north of Perkins, Kentucky, and is approximately 0.80 miles east of the Maple Creek Road junction with Brown Creek Road and located 3.9 miles north of the mouth of Maple Creek.
Blasting operations are projected to commence July 2014. Blasting will be conducted between sunrise and sunset except in emergency situations. Emergency situations include, but are not limited to, lightning, the imminent threat of lightning, or other circumstances that require unscheduled detonation for the safety of the public or miners.
Signs or barriers identify entry points to the blast area. A representative or representatives of the permittee will monitor the access point(s) and prevent entry of unauthorized persons during the blast.
The pre-blast warning signal will be a one (1) minute series of long blasts five (5) minutes prior to the blast signal. The final blast warning signal will be a series of short blasts one (1) minute prior to the detonation. The all clear signal will be a prolonged blast following the inspection of the blast area.
REQUEST FOR BID PROPOSAL
AMBULANCE
Sealed Proposals for the following work will be received by the Whitley County Fiscal Court in the manner and on the date hereinafter specified for the furnishing of all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, services, etc., necessary for the purchase of a 2014 Ambulance and/or Sprinter Ambulance.
Agency must submit their bids to the Whitley County Judge Executive at the Whitley County Courthouse, 200 Main Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky, on or before 2:00 p.m. local time on July14, 2014, at which time bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids will then be presented to the Fiscal Court at the regular scheduled meeting at 6:00 pm on July 15, 2014. Bid envelops shall be marked “Ambulance Bid” on the front of the envelope or package. Bids must be submitted on RFP Form.

Conflicts of interest, gratuities and kickbacks are defined in KRS 45A.445 and as provided for in KRS 45A.445 are absolutely prohibited.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for 90 days after the date the bids are opened. Any bid received after the time specified shall not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder.
Whitley County reserves the right to waive any informality and may reject any and all bids. Whitley County reserves the right to award bid based upon availability, service and in the best interest for the public safety for the citizens of the County.
