50th District Baseball/Softball Scores – 4/28/15
On Tuesday, April 28 three coverage area baseball teams wrapped up regular season district play. First, the Whitley County Colonels hosted the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets. The Colonels fell to the Jackets Monday, but they were able to bounce back and pick up the win Tuesday by a final score of 13-3. With the victory, Whitley improves to 10-8 on the season, 2-4 in the 50th District.
Williamsburg falls to 4-10 overall, 1-5 in the district.
Also Tuesday, the Corbin Redhounds were hoping for a regular season split with South Laurel, who defeated the Hounds 9-0 in London Monday. This game would be contested in Corbin, but the home team could not get the better of their district foes, falling 15-3.
Corbin now sits at 10-10 on the season with a 3-3 record in district play. South Laurel is looking strong entering the second half of the season at 19-4, 6-0.
And in 50th District softball action Tuesday, the Corbin Lady Redhounds improved to 7-15 on the season with a 10-0 win over the Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets. The win puts Corbin at 4-1 in district play. Williamsburg falls to 6-7, 1-4.
