Police searching for man who escaped during pursuit

Jeremy Lynn
The Whitley County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a man, who allegedly fled from police following a motor vehicle pursuit.
On June 8, the sheriff’s department received information about a stolen 2014 Kia Optima from Carlisle County, Kentucky, that might be located in Whitley County.
“According to the complaint, 23-year-old Jeremy Tyler Lynn had stolen the vehicle and might be in the Mud Creek area,” Sheriff Colan Harrell said in a release.
Sgt. Kirk Mays and Deputy Joe Prewitt searched the area.
“A vehicle matching that description approached their location, changed direction of travel and eventually drove through a field with deputies in pursuit. After the vehicle came to a stop, a male fled on foot into a nearby wooded area,” the release stated.
A pregnant woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, remained at the scene.
Mays has obtained arrest warrants for Jeremy T. Lynn charging him with fleeing or evading police by vehicle and on foot, and four counts of wanton endangerment, the release stated.
Lynn is also wanted in Carlisle County for theft by unlawful taking-automobile, according to the release.
Lynn, who is from Southern Whitley County, is 5’8″ with brown hair and hazel eyes. In 2015, he reportedly weighed about 160 pounds.
Anyone with information on Lynn’s whereabouts should contact Whitley County E911 on the non-emergency number, (606) 649-6017.
