Holiday basketball tournaments will begin early next week. The annual Cumberland Falls Invitational has been moved up and will be held Dec. 19-22. Action will get underway Monday with two games.
The Whitley County Wrestling team is off the ground for another year after a successful 2011 season that saw the Colonels finish ninth in the state tournament. However, many of those wrestlers are gone along with former coach Dustin Brown.

It was the tale of two halves Tuesday night as the Corbin Redhounds took on the Clay County Tigers in Bobby Keith Gym.
Junior guard Carissa Conlin took charge in Monday’s 63-55 win over rival Jellico. Conlin scored a career high 40 points as the Lady Jackets came from behind in the fourth quarter to post the first win of the season.
