UPDATED: Whitley High student ‘very ill’ with Swine flu

A Whitley County High School student is reportedly very ill from complications associated with the flu. The high school age child is listed in critical, but stable condition at Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.

Whitley County schools extend illness-induced closure

Officials with the Whitley County School system decided Wednesday evening to keep schools in the district closed until Monday, Oct. 5, in hopes that the recent rash of illness will subside enough to allow attendance levels to return to normal.

Hwy. 26 reduced to one lane through Wednesday for culvert repair
