Citizens ask Williamsburg City Council not to allow Sunday alcohol sales

About a dozen people attended the Williamsburg City Council meeting Monday evening in opposition of a provision in the proposed alcohol ordinance which would allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays after 2 p.m.

Two indicted for offering services without proper training

In first of their kind indictments in Whitley County, a grand jury indicted a Corbin woman and a Williamsburg man Monday for failing to provide proper training for services which they were being paid to provide.

Mitchell ousted after 34 years as Lynn Camp football coach

Veteran Lynn Camp Football Coach David Mitchell was fired Monday morning by Knox County Superintendent Walter T. Hulett.
Mitchell confirmed in a Monday afternoon interview that he had been let go after 34 years with the Lynn Camp football program.

Laurel County school bus involved in wreck Friday afternoon

A Laurel County bus route was interrupted Friday afternoon when the bus was involved in a head-on collision in Cor-Lon Subdivision off of U.S. 25 just north of Hunter Hills Elementary School.

Sewer back-up empties Whitley courthouse Tuesday

The Whitley County Clerk's Office, the Sheriff's Department, the County Attorney's Office and the PVA office at the old Whitley County Courthouse closed early Tuesday, but county officials say that they would have rather been open rather than have the stinky problem.
