A Keavy man, who allegedly led police in a pursuit during an active reported kidnapping, was indicted earlier this month by a Laurel County grand jury.
A Lexington woman remains incarcerated in the Whitley County Detention Center after allegedly shoplifting from the Williamsburg Walmart and leading police on a vehicle pursuit that reached a speed of 100 mph before ending just inside Tennessee.

It appears damage from Sunday and Monday storms in Whitley County likely came from straight line winds that got up to about 90 mph, and followed a similar path as the April 2 storm primarily going through north eastern Whitley County, said Whitley County Emergency Management Director Jerry Rains.

A North Carolina man allegedly broke into a Corbin car dealership Sunday morning, vandalized some offices, took a vehicle for a joy ride, and appeared to be dancing inside a car bay when police arrived at the dealership, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Department release.

The amendment will add 70.86 surface acres and 104.64 Auger/HWM acres affecting 574.42 acres located 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox Counties.
The proposed amendment area is approximately 5.25 miles east of Rockholds in Whitley & Knox County Kentucky, and is approximately 0.64 miles east of KY 1064 junction with Terrell Hollow Road.
The proposed amendment is located on the Rockholds, KY 7½ minute quadrangle map. The amendment area will use a combination of contour, and auger/highwall miner methods of surface mining. The surface mining area to be disturbed by the amendment is owned by Bobby Joe Terrell, Sherrie Grant, David Beller, Verna Dcker and Brian Elliott.
