Grand opening held last Thursday for Jacket Farmer’s Market in W’Burg

A grand opening ceremony was held last Thursday at Bill Woods Park for the Jacket Farmer’s Market. The market is now operated by the Williamsburg Independent FFA and helps the program fund various expenditures throughout the year. Williamsburg Superintendent Tabetha Housekeeper, Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison Williamsburg Independent FFA members and others were on hand to cut the ribbon during the ceremony. A variety of vendors were set up as well, with the FFA providing snow cones and selling t-shirts.

 

Mullins allegedly stole vehicle from victim, then told police victim knew she was in vehicle

A Corbin woman is behind bars after allegedly assaulting the driver of a SUV that she had been riding inside before taking the vehicle. She later told police that the owner knew she was in the vehicle.

North Stewart Road at traffic signal No. 4 located at the Corbin Fitness Center closed until June 24

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists that North Stewart Road at traffic signal No. 4 located at the Corbin Fitness Center will remain closed until Monday, June 24 at 8 a.m.

Access to North Stewart Road is available using traffic signal No. 3 located at Go Time. The need for the closure is to allow for widening of U.S. 25E at the intersection.

This is part of the U.S. 25E congestion reduction project.

Motorists are advised to use caution during this period and be aware of signage, road crews and other drivers. The work is dependent on weather conditions.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
