GearUp Week proclamation signed by mayor, superintendent Monday

Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison and Williamsburg Independent Superintendent Tabetha Housekeeper signed a proclamation Monday afternoon designating the week of Sept. 25 as GearUp Week. GearUp, or Gaining Early Awareness of Readiness for Undergraduate Programs, is a federally-funded, competitive grant program designed to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education.
Fresh water lines to be installed in 92E area of Whitley Co.
More than two dozen Whitley County homes whose occupants still depend on a well as their source of water will be able to tap into a county water supply in the near future.

W’burg man facing attempted murder charge now being sued by victim
A Williamsburg man, who was already facing an attempted murder charge for shooting his estranged wife, is now being sued for allegedly shooting her and leaving her permanently disabled, according to court records obtained by the News Journal.
