Whitley County Fiscal Court sued for unlawful termination
A former Whitley County EMS worker is suing the Whitley County Fiscal Court and the Whitley County EMS director for unlawful termination under provisions in the Kentucky Whistleblower Act, the Kentucky Patient Safety Retaliation Statute and the Kentucky Civil Rights Act.
In their answer to the lawsuit, county leaders denied any wrongdoing and have asked for the lawsuit to be dismissed.

Investigators uncover pattern of abuse leading up to the death of Whitley County four-year-old
There was allegedly a pattern of abuse in the home where four-year-old Chloe Darnell most recently resided before her untimely death, according to investigators, and though the cause of that death still remains unknown, preliminary autopsy results indicate Darnell had suffered multiple fractures to the head and ribs that were likely sustained before her body was buried in a makeshift grave.

Owners of natural gas company named in federal indictment for fraudulent activities
