Gladys (Betty) Medlin, age 89, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at her home in Gray, Kentucky.
She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on April 6, 1934, to the late Lester and Allie Hoskins Davenport.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Medlin Greer, and three brothers, and a sister.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Johnny Medlin; her children, Johnna Bailey (Tim), Jim Medlin (Patty), Tammy Bonza (Jim) and Anita Robinson Pennington (Walt); grandchildren, Greg Wyatt (Jenna), Beth Cline (Mike), Tiffany Cassidy, Wendy Pietrowski (Tony), David Bailey (Kelley), Angie Rose (Justin), Jamie Cutshall (Allan), Faith Hamilton (Justin), Jonathan Smith (Sharlene), and Emma Robinson; 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Betty was a lifelong member of Gray Baptist Church, she was a loving wife for 71 years, a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother,
Betty was a saint in the eyes of her husband and children, and family.
She holds a special place in all our hearts and will be missed tremendously.
Visitation for Betty will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Saturday, December 23, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. With the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jake Mahan officiating,
Burial will follow in Cox Cemetery with Tony Pietrowski, Allan Cutshall, Greg Wyatt, Justin Rose, Justin Hamilton, Eli Pietrowski, Jim Bonza and David Bailey serving as pallbearers.
